I would like to thank the SOE Educational Committee for offering me, the unique opportunity to visit one of the leading ophthalmic centres in Europe. My SOE 2018 Educational Grant for Ophthalmologists-in-training was arranged as a 3-week observership at Department of Ophthalmology in Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. This observership took place from 5th March 2018 to 23rd  March 2018.

I really enjoyed the time spent there. Even though the first morning I was provided with a schedule, the staff were open minded and took into account my suggestions for my ophthalmological development. The schedule everyday was different and included a variety of activities both practical and theoretical. Everyday at the morning conference there was a presentation of case report, which I found very interesting.  I was able to take part in many courses including matching scleral lenses. Moreover, I was welcome to take part in regular teaching sessions, which I attended with great pleasure. All the lectures were very interesting and helpful for my clinical practice and for my future exams.

I would like thank Professor Jesper Hjortdal , Dr. Jesper  G.Eriksen  and other surgeons and residents doctors who offered me lots of their attention and shared their knowledge and experience with great enthusiasm.

I would like to encourage and recommend all residents from Middle and Eastern Europe to apply for the SOE Educational Grants.
