The Board of SOE offers a limited number of scholarships for ophthalmologists-in-training from East European countries to visit Ophthalmic Centres in Europe.At present it is envisaged that the successful applicants will spend a minimum of 4 – 6 weeks observing clinical work in a European Centre.  SOE  has compiled a list of Centres which accept observers and of the sub-specialities they offer.The number of Educational Grants is limited  to 2 or 3 applicants from each East European country (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, The Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine).

Please note that you should not contact the clinic or hospital you would like to visit while applying for the grant. We will only ask you to contact the clinics or hospital if you have been selected for the SOE Educational Grant, in which case we will give you further information.

Grant applications are only accepted through application on the webpage and are received from May 1st 2020 – September 30 2020.
