The SOE National Lecture for Ireland was presented at last week’s Irish College of Ophthalmologist’s Annual Conference 2017 in Cavan. Mr Ian Dooley who presented the SOE Lecture entitled ‘Retinal Detachment- Past, Present and Future, is pictured with Miss Patricia Logan, SOE Irish Board Member.

EUPO, European University Professors of Ophthalmology, is the organiser of the annual course for residents in training. The courses were established 1988, involving an annual structured sub specialty in ophthalmology. Most of ophthalmology curriculum is covered over a 4 year period to allow residents to get an overview of theoretical knowledge during their residency period.
