International Authorship Opportunity – Apply Now!
Greetings! For nine years, the Academy has offered a unique authorship opportunity in the form of EyeWiki. This is the online encyclopedia that operates similar to Wikipedia. EyeWiki is authored by ophthalmologists and ophthalmologists-in-training for the education of other ophthalmologists and the general public.
As a learning tool, EyeWiki is more popular than ever, according to a recent article by Academy CEO Dr. David W. Parke II. Overseen by an editorial board led by Drs. Marcus Marcet and Penny Asbell as editors-in-chief, EyeWiki features more than 800 articles covering a wide range of clinical topics.
Last year, EyeWiki received over 7 million page views by 3.1 million visitors. Almost 40% of that traffic came from outside the United States. As for the authors themselves, 35% are international.
To ensure that EyeWiki stays relevant worldwide, we encourage you and your colleagues to consider entering EyeWiki’s International Ophthalmologists contest, open until 2 June. Here’s how it works.
Submit a high-quality article in any of the following categories:
- Cataract/Refractive Surgery/Cornea/Anterior Segment
- Retina/Vitreous/Uveitis/Oncology/Pathology
- Glaucoma/Neuro‐Ophthalmology
- Pediatrics/Strabismus/Oculoplastics/Orbit
The person submitting the article must be the primary author of the work. Winners will be able to choose between receiving the Academy’s Basic and Clinical Science Course™ (BCSC®) Complete Set eBook series or a two-year subscription to Focal Points Digital.
We look forward to your participation. You can contact me at rvpchan@uic.edu at any time with feedback.
Sincerely,
