It was announced at the SOE/AAO Joint Congress in Geneva that the new President for SOE is Stefan Seregard. Stefan Seregard is Professor of Ophthalmology, Karolinska Institutet, and Chairman of the Department of Vitreoretinal Diseases, St Eriks Eye Hospital Stockholm, Sweden. Graduating participants from the class of 2009-2011 expressed their thanks at being part of the programme and highlighted that the programme had offered them insight into a range of subjects that they would not have necessarily had the opportunity to experience without the programme.
The meeting of the graduating class of 2009-20011 and the incoming class of 2011- 2013 took place at the Joint SOE /AAO Congress in Geneva. Prof Nikolas Bechrakis outlined the details of the programme for the new class. In addition some of the graduating class presented details of their projects which provided a stimulating meeting
