Agnieszka Kuligowska SOE Grant report at Charité Eye Clinic

I would like to thank SOE for this wonderful experience of being an intern at the Charité Eye Clinic and I would like to thank Prof. Antonia Joussen for welcoming me so kindly.

During my 4-week observership I had the opportunity to attend a wide range of surgical procedures across various subspecialties. Additionally, I was able to participate in the outpatient clinic, where I discussed potential diagnostic procedures and treatment plans. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and made me feel like a valued member of the team.

The most I would like to thank Prof. Anna-Karina Maier-Wenzel for her exceptional knowledge and skills, her great attitude and the unforgettable experience she provided to me. I would also like to thank Prof. Oliver Zeitz and Dr Lars Freisberg for introducing me to the amazing world of ophthalmic oncology. Dr David Rua Amaro, Dr Vitus Knecht and Dr Felix Rosanski for sharing their valuable knowledge and experience. Last but not least, I would like to extend my thanks to all those whom I could not mention here by name, and who, with their kindness, showed me how wonderful it is to work together as a team of specialists and solve the most difficult cases.

The internship at this Clinic will definitely contribute to my further development as an ophthalmologist and scientist for which I am extremely grateful.

I highly recommend the observership at Charité Eye Clinic to all SOE Grant Beneficients.
