Ana Ćurić, Croatia, observership report from LMU Klinikum der Universität München, Germany
I spent my observership at the Department for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. I have only positive experience with doctors and orthoptists. My training was very useful, I expanded my knowledge and clinical skills, and learned a lot, especially in the field of strabismus. I especially commend the Head of the Department prof. dr. Ehrt who introduced me to everyone, organized everything, answered all my questions and shared his knowledge with me. I am extremely grateful that he found time to explain to me the cases that I did not understand. I also learned a lot from orthoptists who were very attentive, kind and hospitable, and helped me to improve my orthoptic skills. Furthermore, medical staff in operating room was also kind and welcoming. The doctors at the Department deal mostly with complex and rare cases, therefore I would recommend to all residents interested in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus to apply here, because they indeed have a lot to see and learn. I am very grateful to the whole team for this pleasant and useful experience.
