Dr. Ulkar Feyzullayeva, Azerbaijan, Observership report from Moorfields Eye Hospital, London

I would like to thank the SOE Educational Committee for awarding me this educational grant and supporting my two-week observership at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
This observership provided an excellent opportunity to experience daily clinical practice in one of the world’s leading ophthalmic centres and to gain direct exposure to different ophthalmic subspecialties. During these two weeks, I rotated through glaucoma, medical retina, cornea and external diseases, adnexal, uveitis, rapid access, and paediatric clinics, and also attended surgeries in the adnexal operating theatre.
The observership helped me refresh parts of my clinical knowledge and reflect on some aspects of my own clinical practice. It was especially useful for thinking about the management of more complex cases and for gaining additional perspective on clinical decision-making.
I am very grateful to the consultants, fellows, and staff members at Moorfields Eye Hospital for their support and for generously sharing their clinical experience. They also made sure to introduce me to a wide range of interesting clinical cases, which was an important and valuable part of the observership.
Overall, this observership made a meaningful contribution to my professional development and strengthened my motivation to continue advanced training in ophthalmology.
I would like to sincerely thank the SOE once again for making this opportunity possible.
