Lusine Vogormian Observership Report from Estetica clinic im Spitalerhof, Hamburg, Germany

 

I would like to thank the SOE organisation for this opportunity to be selected  for the SOE grant and have a chance to participate in the observership program at the Estetica clinic im Spitalerhof, Hamburg, Germany. I spent one month with an amazing team of  ophthalmologists and plastic surgeons. The staff were very friendly and supportive, willing to spent a lot of time explaining and helping to adapt to German medical and health  care system. I  spent a lot of time  at the oculoplasty service, which is my desired sub speciality and  also at the refractive surgery service. I had a chance to observe patients during consultations. Observe and also participate during operations which were  related to blepharoplasty, logophthalmos, ptosis reconstruction and  eyelid tumor excisions with eyelid reconstructio.  I would love to keep connections with our international colleagues and have a chance to  visit the Estetica clinic once more in the future.
