Teodora-Diana Pana, Romania, observership report

This experience was amazing because I got to answer multiple questions I had regarding my practice as an ophthalmologist and the future, but also questions on a personal level.

Het Oogziekenhuis is an amazing institution with extremely well trained professionals that offer prime care to all patients and a very good teaching programme to their residents and students. They have departments for almost all ophthalmological subspecialties and a large variety of equipment, diagnostic and treatment methods and technology, making it a great place to explore different sides of this specialty. I was impressed by how nicely I was welcomed, how open and warm people were, making sure I have the best experience there (see interesting cases, answer all my questions, make sure I have everything I need). I was able to establish beautiful connections with the doctors I worked with and felt like part of their team.

Living abroad for a month was a great experience, allowing to test myself in a new environment. I discovered a fun culture that I really enjoyed, a beautiful lively city and managed to reconnect with some friends and create new memories.
I look back to this experience with a smile on my face and a warm feeling in my heart and I am very grateful for the opportunity and for the amazing people I met!
