EuLDP Class 2017 – 2019 Joint Module

The EuLDP Class of 2017 -2019 attended a Joint module with the AAO Leadership and PAAO curso Leadership development programmes in San Francisco.

The intensively packed programme covered topics including motivational talks from outside Ophthalmology as well as leadership discussions, Political Advocacy, Professionalism and Ethics, Effective Negotiating strategies, Presentation skills and techniques and International Society collaboration.

SOE are proud of this vital programme and thank the AAO for their support and collaboration.

SOE are thankful to Director of EuLDP, Nikos Bechrakis, Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology, University Clinic Essen, Germany, who has steered the programme for over 10 years. The programme has grown enormously and remains an important leadership development programme for many potential leaders in Ophthalmology.

The Directorship will be taken over by Anthony Khawaja MA(Cantab) PhD FRCOphth, Consultant ophthalmic surgeon, Moorfields Eye Hospital who was a previous participant of the EuLDP Programme.
