Greek National Society meetings

During the 28^th congress of the Hellenic Society of Intraocular Implant and Refractive Surgery which will be held in Athens Greece from the 20^th until the 23^rd of February 2014 at the Hilton Athens Hotel, a session entitled “Training Opportunities in Ophthalmology from East to West”, organized by SOE Young Ophthalmologists in collaboration with the Greek YO’s committee will be held on Sunday 23^rd of February (9:30 AM). Different subspecialty fellowship and surgical training opportunities (from India to USA) will be explored to help residents and young ophthalmologists better plan their career and utilize the different potential opportunities. The session’s coordinator is Dr. Elias Feretis, SOE board member.

 

The 47th Panhellenic Ophthalmology Congress organized by the Ophthalmological society of Northern Greece will take place in Thessaloniki from May 28^th to June 1^st 2014. The congress is chaired by Dr. Nikolaos Kozeis.  A SOE YO’s  session in collaboration with the Greek YO’s committee  will take place during the congress in which young ophthalmologists from all over Europe are invited  to participate by presenting interesting cases in a “rapid fire” presentation style.  Interesting cases will be presented highlighting the differences in management strategies in different European centers. The session will also foster exchange of ideas and enable participants to become familiar with one another’s expertise in the field. There will be an excellent opportunity for professional development as well as cultural enhancement.
